Palomino Fest Donates $25K to SWTX, Boosting Los Palominos Scholarship Fund to Empower Local Students

Uvalde, TX, September 10, 2024 - Southwest Texas College (SWTX) is thrilled to announce a generous donation of $25,000 from Palomino Fest, an annual music festival celebrated for its commitment to community support and local advancement. The donation was presented by festival founders, the Arreola brothers, to SWTX President Dr. Hector Gonzales during their performance on Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Uvalde County Fairplex.

The contribution will significantly benefit the Los Palominos Scholarship Fund, which provides crucial financial support to students pursuing higher education at SWTX. This latest donation marks a significant addition to Palomino Fest's ongoing support, which has totaled approximately $325,000 in contributions to the college.

"We are immensely grateful for the Los Palominos' continued support and dedication to our community's education," said Gonzales. "Their commitment to the Los Palominos Scholarship Fund exemplifies the spirit of giving that strengthens our educational mission and supports our students' dreams."

Palomino Fest, which ran from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, has established itself as a cornerstone event in the Uvalde area, attracting music enthusiasts and supporters of local initiatives. The festival's successful run and impactful donations underscore its role in enhancing educational opportunities for students in the region.
