Southwest Texas College and Mexican Consulate Partner to Expand Educational Opportunities for Mexican Nationals
Uvalde, TX, August 14, 2024 - Southwest Texas College (SWTX) and the Mexican Consulate in Eagle Pass, Texas, today announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to increase educational access for Mexican nationals and persons of Mexican origin residing in the United States. The partnership aims to provide financial support for students pursuing middle or higher education through the IME Becas program.
Through this collaboration, SWTX and the Mexican Consulate will jointly contribute $13,000 USD to support eligible students with tuition, fees, and course materials. The program will focus on high school, technical education, undergraduate, and graduate programs, both in-person and online.

The IME Becas program, funded by the Mexican government, offers financial assistance to eligible students. To qualify, individuals must be Mexican nationals or of Mexican origin residing in the United States.
