The SWTJC Cowboy Pantry aims to decrease the impact that food insecurities have on the academic success of our students.

Donations
Food Items Needed
You may also donate food items on-campus by placing them in the red donation buckets that are located in the Student Success Center, Flores Building, the MSC Cafeteria, or the Library. If you would prefer us to come to get your donations, contact us, and we will arrange to come get them.
The food pantries at SWTJC are thankful for your donations, from food to key hygiene products to online giving.

Staffing and Volunteer Opportunities
The Student Food Pantry accepts volunteers. Volunteer duties include stocking shelves, rotating inventory, pre-packaging food items, and assisting with food pantry visits.
To Be a Volunteer
Student staff and volunteers must be current Southwest Texas Junior College students, faculty or staff. Those who wish to volunteer should contact the Food Pantry at their campus to complete the appropriate documentation process.Community Resources
Student Food Pantry FAQs
Who is eligible for services?
SWTJC students, who are currently enrolled in classes, either part-time or full-time, are eligible to receive food pantry services.
How often can I visit?
Students can visit the Cowboy Pantry twice per month.
What types of services are available?
The SWTJC Student Food Pantry assists students by providing food supplements to those who have been impacted by financial challenges/conditions and subsequently are experiencing difficulty meeting their basic need of adequate nutrition. The food pantry will distribute nonperishable food supplements to currently enrolled students at SWTJC.
Can I receive food pantry services if I have a meal plan?
Yes, students who have a meal plan may also receive food supplements from the SWTJC Student Food Pantry.
How does it work?
Students can order from the SWTJC Cowboy Pantry twice per month by following the process below:
- Submit order form here!
- Check your college email for an email confirming that your order is ready.
- Stop by the Cowboy Pantry, in the MSC Building, room E120 to pick up your order within 7 days of submission.
What is provided?
Students may receive a variety of nonperishable food commodities such as canned fruits and vegetables and whatever food items that may be available that week (depending on current inventory).

How can I volunteer?

Student staff and volunteers must be current Southwest Texas Junior College students, faculty, or staff. Those who wish to volunteer should contact the Food Pantry at their campus to complete the appropriate documentation process.
All volunteers are expected to uphold the highest ethical, professional, and courteous standards at all times. There will be no eating or utilization of the Food Pantry while working or volunteering during your designated shift.
What do I take with me when I visit the food pantry?
When visiting the food pantry, please have your SWTJC Student ID ready to show to food pantry staff.
